PHASA currently has 3 special interest groups:

• Registrars – chaired by Heinrich Volmink (Wits University)
• Public Health Medicine Specialists
• Masters in Public Health – chaired by Ehimario Egumbor (University of the Western Cape)

These groups meet at least once a year during the PHASA conference, but might have their own meetings in between. It gives the members of an interest group the opportunity of networking and sharing information with other health professionals in their own field.
